A sense of place
project : A sense of place : period 2017-2022
''I only ever learnt to love myself through other people’s eyes - be it my friends or my lovers. Everything seemed uncertain, with no dreams or plans for the future. I felt lost and full of despair for many years. One day, sitting at my bed and wearing my red night dress I picked up my camera and started photographing myself . At that very moment I felt I was touching that little voice inside of me that was still dancing powerfully like a butterfly in the sky. I started photographing my everyday life in a liberating way. I started planning , traveling and dreaming. The world was opening. For the first time in my life I felt strong; Ι felt free; Ι felt alive. I became my own hero. My kingdom of despair was finally collapsing. Suddenly, I was opened to love. He came to my life one hot summer and danced with me on the white sand. These memories of this journey record the dark and bright moments of my personal life with an undeniable eye for the light.''
